Something to build on...eventually

The foundation was poured yesterday. Sorry there are no pictures yet. The official blog photographer wasn't available to work yesterday (she had a masters class). We will try to get some photos up soon, maybe today if it stops raining. We will have plenty of time, as the foundation needs to sit about 10 days before they do anything new. Let the waiting begin...

Best foot(ings) forward...

The footings are complete. Tomorrow they will set the forms and pour the foundation...

What a difference a day makes...

Amanda stopped by the lot after school and took a few pictures of the excavating. They've got most of the hole dug already. The concrete company will be by in the morning to pour the footings and the whole foundation should be poured by Turkey Day!

I guess you have to start somewhere...

After a couple weeks of inactivity, Amanda happened to drive by the lot this evening and notice some heavy equipment. When we went back to look there was a gentleman who had begun the scraping process. I suppose this means we've officially "broken ground"...

Two New Beginnings

We had a very exciting week! We learned that digging will begin on Tuesday (watch for more pictures to come) and Adam received a new job offer. Despite missing his present co-workers, after the Thanksgiving holiday, Adam will be doing Community Relations for the American Cancer Society. He is very excited and ready for a new challenge.

In the beginning...

Amanda and I thought we'd take a couple pictures of the lot before they begin building.

I used the red lines to approximate the lot line. The picture of the back yard was taken from the Beckett's deck. The picture of the front was taken from the field across the road.

It's Official!

We met with the bank and title company and officially signed our lives away tonight. We are now building a house.

In a few months our new address will be 1773 Guns Rd...
